Bye Bye 2010 !!!!! – I

Hai folks…..

It’s time to say bid adieu to 2010 and start a fresh 2011 in a few days. Let us remind some of the

things that has made 2010 a memorable one. First of all is that the recent achievement of “God of

Cricket” SACHIN Tendulkar who has made the mark of 50 th century last week and not to forget

about his achievements right from the start of the year like he has adorned the limited overs cricket

by scoring the DOUBLE CENTURY against mighty Proteas…

Then we have lot other stuff happened like CWG happening in New Delhi , India making to the second

spot in the medal tally in CWG after long time. We cannot forget the ASIAN GAMES all-round performance

of our nation’s athletes in Guangzhou. In the Formula One Vettel becoming the Youngest ever driver to

win the championships this year. In tennis Rafa making to the number uno after winning US open for the

first time was laudable one. Not to forget about the extraordinary performances of SAINA NEHWAL in the

sport of Badminton.

Great Inspirations to take and make…….

Hai …

This week I got some time to Google about the great sportsmen who have acheived not only by their

skills and techniques but greatly through the persistence , self belief and confidence. That gave me

a great inspiration to get on to my dreams for pursuing my passion. Some of the great sportsmen from

whom I got great mental stuff are Messi , Villa etc . I surfed their biographies and was astonished to

see how tough they had fought to attain the great position that we see today as famous personalities

and millionaires . But they have attained this over night .Each one of them has done many sacrifices

and developed great mental attitude . Thus I thought why not we can also make our attitude develop.

This inspired me a lot……..

Batsmen bats for Money rather than the country

Hai folks…..

The recent Chaos  in the International Cricket has clearly shown that many players are definetly

batting for the sake of money. These happenings has made the Sport to feel ashamed of itself.

I guess the game was adorned by the likes of Don Bradman,Vivian Richards,Gavaskar and

many.Right ?. It is totally disgusting for the game which lies in the hearts of millions and millions

of people.

The players should think of how people had played the sport in the past with lots of passion only

for the sake of nation and not for the money. The International Council has to take proper measures

for preventing these kind of mishaps to happen in future. Stingent punishments must be awarded for

these brats who changes their color for money, leaving the country and the sport behind them.

I was not inspired but can’t get out of it……..

I am a kind of person who likes to write something new which may pinch the irresponsible persons and also motivate people with some creativity in writing. The passion for writing flashed at me when I was reading a novel which described some dark things happened in our nation. I was really inspired and thought why can’t I use the writing as a medium to express my concerns about the happening in the surroundings. Since I was very much new to the world of writing I had less ideas which were inadequate to explain my thoughts as a story which should be able to convey it. During this phase I got a chance to go through a regional bi-weekly. Since I was very fond of the recent happenings my interest to read it was nearing its saturation.

After completing the magazine (not fully) I was struck in a column which contained the interview by a woman. I started reading it as normally I do but when I was in the middle of the story that she said I was struck and my nerves started shivering. I was feeling very cold. I continued her story of how she was trapped in an ruggered situation. This made me a spark which insisted me to write her story which would explain the problems faced in our nation of the whole.I started working on it by adding some ideas for getting it as a complete story.

I was really near but I could’nt……

One day I was there in my college unusually after the classes were over. I had to be there for a test that was scheduled in the evening. The climate was too good and the winds pleased me when I was waiting for the start of the test outside the classroom. After a while the darkness in the form of the clouds surrounded the light carpet of sky. I was wondering whether there would be rain that day. I was peeping the skies from the window of the building to check whether the rain had started.Suddenly a hand shrugged my shoulder for which I came to the reality. It was my friend Krish who told me to come inside the class room as the test was about to begin. While moving through the benches I prayed the shower to start after the test was over so that I can enjoy it after a long time of dry summer.

After few minutes my test was started and I was not so keen on it. It is too hard to write even an easy test when we are not mentally concentrated. I too had been struck in the same situation at that time. Suddenly when I was trying to answer a few a water droplet fell on my had from the window some feet away from where i was sitting. The drizzles and the moisture was increasing along with my curiosity. But it was shut down when the boy near the window closed it and shattered my happiness.

At that time I thought of finishing the test as fast as i could so that i shall get myself drowned . But when I was about to leave the proffesor asked me stay in the class until the duration of the test was over. I was very angry at him as the rain was too heavy. It took half an hour for coming to the end of the test but the thing that was happening before half an hour stopped abruptly before I could enjoy it.

At that time I thought “I was really near but I couldnt……”

Fiction : Rifle’s Rivalry -1

CHAPTER- I

3, June 2009 Berlin

The plane routed through the runway and halted after sailing some distance in it. The writer James Rook came out of the airport after twenty minutes of check out .James Rook was a writer from Australia who had been announced the prestigious golden award for his “Hour of Fear” novel. He had come to Berlin for receiving the award. He was received by an official at the exit of the airport. They then loaded the baggage into the car and started for the hotel.

Rook after completing the procedures at the reception got into his room. He had his award ceremony after two days. He was tired and slept for the rest of the day.

**

The next day started with a chill morning and the sun rays were only source of heat inside the room. Rook was late and got ready for roaming through the city that day. Since he came to Berlin for the first time he was very excited to move through it.

After he was ready he called the official

“ I like to visit the city today as there is leisure time today”.

The official replied “Sir I’ll send a guide to take through various places around Berlin in an hour”.

Rook hung up the phone and arrived at the lobby of the restaurant. After spending some time there he went into the restaurant for having his break-fast. The restaurant was well furnished and was designed in a roman style of architecture. There were a lot of ancient paintings hung over the wall of the restaurant. The tables were arranged in a column wise manner separated by wooden frames. The German traditional music was being played which gave a pleasant feel to Rook.

He sat over a table at the right most corner of the restaurant. Then a waiter in traditional suite came to the table for getting the order. Since he was in Berlin for the first time he had no knowledge of the food available here. So he ordered cheese burger and fruit juice for his break fast. He noticed many people around him were foreigners. Mean while an elderly person came near Rook and stared at him for a while.

“Excuse me Sir” he said “ I am John Schemer. I guess you’re James Rooks , award winning writer“

Rooks smiled “ Yeah, I’m Rooks and glad to meet you John “.

John became very happy and said “ Rooks I had read your award winning “Hour of Fear” novel which impressed me a lot”.

af

“ Thanks John” Rooks  added “ Its the motivation of the readers like you that make me to write more and more “.

“That’s great about you Rooks. I wish you to write more and bag lot of awards” as the waiter came to the table he was leaving “ I’ll sign off now. Hope to see you during the award ceremony at Barracks Palace “.

“ See you John” as Rooks started to have his break fast.

After having the break fast at the restaurant he went to the reception. The reception had a

long sofa and a lot of magazines were placed in the table in front of it. He sat over the sofa and took an English magazine.

Meanwhile the official came nearby Rooks “ Excuse me Sir, I am Andy Richie” he added “I have come here to get you around some of the famous places in Berlin”.

Rooks stood “ That’s great Andy Richie. Shall we make a move ?”

Andy nodded and they both started to move out of the reception. Andy guided him to the car and they started out of the hotel.

“Hour of Fear”- fiction 1 My first work

It was a chill evening. The dark surrounded the hostel slowly. The hostel premises seemed to be
purely deserted with only few of them stayed back for the holidays. In these days the students
having some work used to stay here in the hostel.
I was standing in front of my room and said “Come on Krish … It’s already late we have to go to
our computer lab…”
“Yeah I’m coming Sundar. We can leave in a minute.” he said convincingly.
Then after locking our room I and Krish started for the computer lab which is in our department
premises and will be opened up to 11 O clock in the night. It was about 500 meters from our
hostel.
Krish is my roommate and a good friend. When we were moving on to the lab I was thinking
about the things I have to download for the project that I was doing in our college. After ten
minutes of walk in the cool evening we reached our lab which had only our lab assistant Ram
surfing in the central system. The lab had about thirty computers equally spaced between them. I
switched on a computer which was at the left most corner of the lab and Krish sat next to my
system.
“Hey Sundar the T20 match between India and Pakistan has started now. And India is bowling
first….” Krish screamed as Ram stared at both of us for a while and continued his job.
“Always watching cricket in the hostel and surfing the scores here also….” I said “Be serious
Krish we have to finish our project in two days but you’re very much excited about the match”
After a couple of hours Krish said “I have left the CD which had our project contents in our
room and I’ll get it from there…”
“Ok you get it soon; I’ll be waiting for you. It’s important that we need it now.” I said as Krish
started out for the hostel.
After Krish had left the lab, it seemed more deserted than before but I consoled myself and
continued my work.
Then after a while lab assistant Ram came near me and said “Sundar I have some work in the
upstairs. You look after the lab I’ll be there in half an hour.”
I hesitatingly said “Ok sir no problem I’ll be here.”
The lab had the only source of light in the building and I felt like sitting alone in a big palace.
I tried to work but my mind was full of fear. Then my mobile rang for an incoming call and it
was from an unknown number. My fear increased a bit more and I took the phone.
“Who’s there” I asked in low voice
There was no reply from the other end. I just ended the call and stared at my mobile for a minute.
It was suddenly switched off and when I tried to switch it on; it didn’t respond. The fear in me
increased and when I looked back, the power in the lab was also gone. I was afraid that
something is wrong. My hands started shivering.
I felt like someone pushing me and  heard a loud noise for which my heart started beating in a
high rate. I thought of moving out of the lab but I had no clue to go because of the darkness. I
pushed the chair near me and started moving furiously by guessing the path. Suddenly my
mobile felt down somewhere and I could not find it as it was too dark there. In the course of my
running I saw a person looking like Krish standing near a class which had a small bulb from
which he was visible to me. I was very happy that he can help me to get rid of this ghost or
something.
I shouted at the person but he never responded. He was facing the other side of the class and he
didn’t notice me.
I was hit by a table and I fell down the floor.I tried to stand up but I was unable to get up. I felt
like my hands being tied with the rope besides me as I was unable to move my hands. I tried for
ten minutes to move away from there but it was in vain. When I was about to give up I felt like
something hitting me. After this I was more afraid and managed to move from there to the
person.
I reached the person and I stood in front of him. It was none other than my friend Krish but in a
different look. I was a bit resolved and said to him “Why you didn’t respond to me when I
shouted inside the lab”
He turned towards me and said “You must die”, with a different voice like the one that I heard
inside the lab.
“Hey what are you doing Krish I am your friend and you are saying me to die” I started to cry…
Suddenly I saw a change in his facial appearance and seemed to me like a ghost. I tried to
escape. But he grabbed me and gave me three punches for which I felt down. Then he took a big
long sword and snubbed me with it as blood rushed out of my stomach.
“I can’t withstand the pain. What the hell you are doing” I screamed like a deer which fell into
the tiger’s mouth and fainted with a lot of pain.
I felt someone hitting on my shoulder. I just turned and opened my eyes
.I saw Krish saying “Wake up Sundar. You are sleeping for more than four hours from after
noon. What happened? Are you not feeling well? We have to go to the lab now for our project
and it’s late already?”
Then only I realized that it was a bad dream and that too in the afternoon. My fear increased as
Krish was the one who killed me in the dream. But when I got up from the bed I realized my
foolishness and said to him “I had a bad dream today and let’s go to lab tomorrow”
Krish started laughing at me when I narrated the dream and said “Don’t worry man I’ll not kill
you. Come let’s go there…”
